Mili(7명), SEVENTEEN(6명)이 뒤를 이었어요.

The CREPE Team's Most Memorable Commissions!🎙️
Even while we are busy building CREPE, our team members are also applying for commissions, or in some cases taking on commissions via the platform!
As CREPE users ourselves, we wanted to chat with our team members about some of the most memorable commissions they’ve applied for on CREPE. Today, we’re introducing team member K, who has a particular love for BL webtoons and web novels!
Let’s find out more about K’s most memorable CREPE commissions.
|
|
|
❓What was the most memorable commission you've applied for?
👤K : There was a family crest commission that stood out to me! A while ago, I was totally obsessed with a particular web novel. However unless a web novel is a huge hit, it usually doesn’t have many official illustrations beyond the cover, so there isn’t much visual material to fuel your imagination. This web novel was one of these cases. So I spent a lot of time fangirling over the characters and imagining things about them on my own. My favorite character was the heir to a prestigious family in the story, and since I’ve always loved historical settings and things like medieval aristocratic families from real history, I really enjoyed imagining what his family might be like. The more I dug into tiny hints from the story and immersed myself in my own theories and headcanons, the more attached I became to this character. Eventually, I found myself thinking, “I really should get a commission for this!”.
Just by chance, I spotted a family crest design commission on CREPE’s “Hidden Restaurants” section of the homepage, and I immediately thought, “This is it!” Prestigious families usually have their own crest or symbol, so suddenly I became really curious about what my favorite character’s family crest might look like. I absolutely loved the samples, so I immediately started filling out the commission application.
|
|
|
❓What was the most memorable part of the application process?
👤K : Before applying, I wanted to figure out exactly what kind of mood and style I wanted for the crest and make sure I had a clear idea of what I was looking for. I wanted the elements from the original work to blend together naturally, and I also wanted the crest to reflect the world of the story! It was also my first time applying for this type of commission, so I did quite a bit of research while filling out the application. |
|
|
I looked into the characteristics of crests belonging to well-known aristocratic families, as well as elements they often feature. Things like crowns, crosses, symmetrical designs… I researched these details and incorporated them into my application as I went along. Even the application process itself was part of the fun for me, so I really enjoyed it, which is why it’s an experience I remember so fondly. I did specify a few elements that I wanted included, but I left the rest up to the artist as an omakase, so I was really excited to see what kind of design they would come up with. |
|
|
❓Were you happy with the final result? What did you like about it the most?
👤K : I absolutely loved the final result! I thought the artist’s design sense really shone through. I asked for several different symbols to be included, but I didn’t give any specific instructions about the placement or layout. Even so, they combined all the elements so beautifully and harmoniously that I remember thinking, “Wow, they’re seriously talented…” I was especially happy with how they captured the mysterious and sophisticated feeling I was hoping for. One wish I haven’t been able to fulfill yet, is to have a custom stamp made using the commission artwork, or print it on something like parchment paper and display it in my room. I really love making displays using commissions. Personally, I think there’s a huge sense of satisfaction when a commission you discovered through this kind of “chance encounter” turns out so well. I still can’t get enough of that dopamine, and now I find myself browsing the “Hidden Restaurants” section every day…
That’s the story behind K’s most memorable commission.
When we planned the <CREPE Team’s Most Memorable Commissions> section, we thought it would be a much shorter feature than this. But as we interviewed K and the other team members, we could feel their passion for the things they love, their affection for commissioning, and the joy they experienced throughout the process. We wanted to share that enthusiasm with you, so we decided to write a longer feature than originally planned!
We’ll return with stories from some of our other team members. Until then, we hope you’ll have your own “chance encounter” with a commission, just like K! If you’d like to explore the “Hidden Restaurants” section that K mentioned, you can find it on the CREPE homepage.

Keeping CREPE Safe : Transaction System Misconduct
CREPE’s secure payment system is designed to protect both artists and clients. Any activity that abuses or exploits this system is considered transaction system misconduct. To maintain a safe and secure transaction environment, CREPE strictly prohibits such activities. However, there are cases where users may become involved in transaction system misconduct without realizing, or fall victim to fraudulent activity. In this Tips & Tricks, we’ll break down different types of transaction system misconduct in an easy-to-understand format.
Using CREPE solely as a payment system
This refers to making a payment with no intention of proceeding with a commission, then converting the funds into cash through a points refund or withdrawal of revenue. It also includes using CREPE to process payment for a transaction that is conducted outside CREPE.
Conducting commissions that are unsuitable for sale This refers to conducting commissions that cannot take place on CREPE because they may be unsafe or violate certain laws. Examples include payment transfer services, consultations, tutoring, completing assignments on someone else’s behalf, friend or relationship commissions, character relationship/TRPG commissions, in-person drawing sessions, and cosplay dates. Requests intended for private interactions, which were covered in August’s Tips & Tricks are also included in this category.
External payments outside of CREPE’s safe transaction system This includes requesting or offering payment after the commission has been completed, as well as “monthly subscription commissions,” where the final work is delivered in multiple installments through CREPE’s WIP delivery feature. It also includes transactions such as exchanging creative works or arranging mutual commissions.
You can find more examples in our new Help Center article. → 📌 What Is Transaction System Misconduct?
Transaction system misconduct can be identified in two ways. The CREPE team regularly reviews transaction records and may identify misconduct directly, while cases may also be reported by users. In either case, CREPE carefully reviews relevant records to determine the facts.
If transaction system misconduct is confirmed, measures may be taken depending on the severity of the violation. These may include restrictions on transactions or revenue withdrawals, and in serious cases, permanent suspension of account access.
If you encounter a suspicious transaction or receive a proposal of this kind, please do not participate and report it using the report button. Providing the relevant conversation history along with the commission reference number will help us review the case quickly.
A safe transaction environment is built through the CREPE team’s ongoing monitoring and your helpful reports. Let’s work together to protect all our artists and clients. |

Tell us about your favorite words and sentences✍️
In Korea, October 9th is Hangul Day (a day to celebrate the creation of the Korean alphabet). We all encounter words and writing in our everyday lives, and sometimes we find ourselves spending a long time mulling over a single word, so naturally we decided to think about our favorite words and sentences for this month's special event.
What are some of your favorite words? It could be a word that's in the dictionary, something you heard somewhere, or even a line from your favorite work or song lyrics. Although this idea stemmed from Hangul Day, we are curious about the words themselves, so it’s perfectly fine to share words and sentences in a language other than Korean. In fact, we would love to hear about unusual words from your native languages if there are any that come to mind. |

We asked about your favorite music🎵
In our previous newsletter, we asked what kind of music you enjoy and how you like to listen to it. We received responses from 571 of you, 493 in Korean and 78 in English. The percentages below are based on the Korean responses, and we’ll take a closer look at the English responses separately. Let’s find out what you had to say!
🗨️ Choose your favorite music genre. (up to 5)
Taking the top spot was Anime Music (OP·ED·OST) (52.3%), chosen by more than half of respondents. In second place was J-POP (Bands & Singer-Songwriters) (48.7%), followed by Vocaloid Original Tracks & Arrangements (46.0%) in third. All three of the top genres were selected by more than 45% of respondents. They were followed by K-POP (36.7%), Game BGM & Soundtracks (30.0%), and Original Songs by Virtual Artists (27.4%). The results were a little different among English respondents. Game BGM & Soundtracks took the top spot at 52.6%. Character Songs & Voice Actor Albums (30.8%) and 2D Idol Content (26.9%) were also two to three times more popular among English respondents than among Korean respondents. Since each respondent selected an average of four genres, please note that the percentages add up to more than 100%.
🗨️ What made you start listening to that genre?
Anime-related experiences were the most common starting point. Many respondents said they discovered music through works they were already enjoying, with answers like “while watching anime” and “I’ve been into manga and anime since I was young.” YouTube recommendations and algorithms, social media, recommendations from friends, and games followed closely behind. We also came across some short but wonderfully intense answers, such as “Fate” and “Some kind of divine calling…” which definitely stood out!
🗨️ How do you usually enjoy music? (up to 5)
The most popular way to enjoy music was “alone at home via earphones or speakers” (89.5%). This was followed by “while commuting or traveling” (78.1%) and “as background music while working or studying” (74.8%). All three of the top choices involved listening alone while doing something else. One respondent even shared, “listening to music while working on commissions gives me an energy boost!” Coming in fourth was “Karaoke (including coin karaoke)” (50.1%), with more than half of respondents saying they also enjoy singing their favorite songs themselves.
🗨️ What is one song you would recommend most to others? / Tell us why you’d like to recommend that song!
The most surprising finding was how diverse your music tastes are. Across all 571 Korean and English responses, we counted 456 different artists, and 396 of them were mentioned only once. Even the most frequently mentioned song or artist was only selected by three respondents. That said, here are the artists whose names came up multiple times: (Kenshi Yonezu) was the most frequently mentioned, appearing in 8 responses, followed by Mili (7) and SEVENTEEN (6). When it came to individual songs, “Rêverie” by attwn park was the only song selected by three respondents, making it the most commonly mentioned song in the survey.
The most common reason people gave for recommending their chosen song was simply “I just really love it”, and many of you expressed “it's my favorite song,” or “it's a classic.” Among those who gave a more detailed explanation, lyrics (29.7%) came out on top, ahead of melody and overall vibe (both in the 20% range).
We also received some answers related to commissions.
(Sekiranun to Denshinbashira)
I had such an unexpected but wonderful chance encounter! When I commissioned an artist through CREPE, they drew a room where my OC lives based on the description I provided, and recommended this song because they felt it suited my OC. I absolutely love this lighthearted instrumental, it’s full of summer vibes and feels like a gentle breeze. That’s why I’d like to recommend this song!
We also received many other song recommendations filled with memories from all kinds of moments. We couldn’t fit them all into this newsletter, but every single one had a little sparkle of its own. Thank you for sharing your stories filled with love and affection. |

🎨 What does "full-color" cover?
In September, “full-color” saw the biggest increase in searches in the illustration category. When browsing commission types, you’ll come across a variety of terms describing coloring, not just “full-color.” We’ve put together a quick guide to coloring styles to help you choose a commission type, or set one up yourself!
- Black & White (흑백): When the artwork uses only black linework on a white canvas.
- Point Color (포인트채색): Starting with black & white linework, color is added only to specific focal points, such as a character’s eyes.
- Monochrome (단색): A step beyond linework, where each part of the artwork is filled with a single color without shading.
- Simple Color (간단 채색): A coloring style that keeps shading and overall rendering relatively light and simple.
- Full Color (풀컬러): Fully rendered style that incorporates the full range of coloring and rendering techniques the artist is capable of.
This being said, the exact definition of each coloring level may vary from artist to artist. Be sure to check the sample images and commission details before applying. Artists can also help clients understand what to expect by clearly explaining their coloring style and level, along with example images, when setting up their commission types.
📱 Widget Design (위젯 디자인)
As more people take up coding as a hobby, we’re also seeing more users share and distribute widgets and programs they create themselves. Naturally, this has led to growing demand for custom designs specifically for these widgets. From cute SD characters to designs in all kinds of styles, more people are turning to CREPE to find assets they need for their widgets. If you want to personalize the screen you look at every day with a design that’s uniquely yours, try searching for “widget design” on CREPE!
📖 OC Lore (자캐서사)
“OC Lore” is a keyword that made the list in two different categories this month: Writing and Fortune. It seems there are many people who cherish their original characters and are looking for commissions related to their lore. From expanding on the existing backstory of a character you’ve already created, building their story from the ground up, to fleshing out the world they live in, there are all kinds of commissions available to help bring your OC’s story to life. If you want to give your original character an even deeper story, try searching for “OC Lore” on CREPE.
